Photo: Visitors at KEEP.

KEEP operates Travellers' Information Centres for visitors to Nepal. These Information Centres – at Sermanthang (Helambu/Langtang), Salleri (Solu Khumbu), Royal Bardia National Park as well as in Kathmandu – offer non-commercial, unbiased advice on all aspects of trekking, including important information regarding mountain safety and altitude sickness. You can learn how to minimise your impact and help protect the fragile Himalayan environment and culture while trekking.

At the Travellers' Information Centre in Jyatha, Thamel, Kathmandu you'll also find a reference library of materials on Nepal and the Himalayas, notice boards, displays, embassy registration forms for trekkers, lectures, and slide shows. We sell biodegradable soaps, water purification tablets, herbal anti-leech oil and sunscreen as well as T-shirts with conservation messages, recycled paper stationery and souvenirs, First Aid manuals and 'trekking gently' books and calendars. Recent additions include photo albums on main trekking areas, a 'Green News' clippings notebook, and a selection of second-hand books for sale.

Come in for a chat – and don't forget to visit our Green Café, where you can enjoy a real cappuccino, fresh fruit juice, other beverages, as well as a variety of delicious homemade meals and cakes, while reading our logbooks for tips on trekking routes. See the Contact Us page for details on where to find us.
