Of all the environmental issues associated with mountain tourism, garbage seems to get the most press. Clean ups are organised. Villagers dig waste pits. But where do trekkers put their rubbish while trekking? Well, KEEP now has the answer.
The "Garbage Out!" bag [aka GO!Bag] solves this problem. Weighing only 65 grams, the Go!Bag is a collapsing waterproof sac that tucks into a sleeve behind a flat Gore-tex shield the size of a largish postcard. It is big enough to carry a week's worth of rubbish, without messing the inside of your rucksack. It comes with a neck cord, and is closed securely by a velcro flap.
