Vol:2, No:1, March 2008

Hello All,

Firstly, we apologize for the delay in the delivery of KEEP’s bi-monthly e-newsletter due to technical reasons. Daily power cuts have made completing office work a difficult task.

On a more positive note, KEEP is excited to announce its up coming anniversary. The 31st of this month marks KEEP’s 15th year of commitment to our two-pronged mandate: to provide impartial and independent information to travelers, and to ensure the future ecological and cultural prosperity of Nepal through positive impact tourism and outreach project work.

KEEP is proud to announce the success of an English and German language course offered to people working within the trekking and tourism fields. Over 100 participants were involved in the language courses, both having basic and intermediate levels. In February KEEP also hosted a two-day hospitality training in which 37 homestay operators took part.

KEEP would like to extend a warm welcome to its newest office intern Michelle Hoogland (Canada). She has come to work in the office for the month of March. Her main focus within the office will be fundraising for KEEP and the school program, and working on the e-newsletters and web site.

Finally, KEEP has recently published its Program Report 2005-07. The report highlights activities of KEEP in the past two years. The report can be downloaded from KEEP's website while please contact KEEP for a hard copy.

Thank You.

Sincerely Yours,
DB Gurung
Director
