Crooked Trails
is a non-proft, community-based travel organization working to
help people strengthen their relationship with the planet and
all of its people through education and responsible travel. Crooked
Trails is the authorised US representative of KEEP.
Dhaulagueri is
a project established to clean-up Dhaulaguri Base Camp and the
related trekking route. The Dhaulagueri-Onyx project was created
by eight young French mountaineers with the aim of cleaning, ecologically
the Dhaulagueri Base Camp, situated at an altitude of 4,630 meters.
KEEP is a Nepalese partner for this project.
Intrepid
Foundationcontribute to the grass-roots work of
non-government organisations based in Intrepid Travel's operating
areas and are recognised as making a valuable contribution to
the local community. These include many small projects in health
care, education, human rights, child welfare and environmental
and wildlife protection. Intrepid Foundation has also been supporting
KEEP’s thorugh its Community Fund while partnering KEEP
in undertaking of the Community Project.
Kathmandu Electric Vehicles
Alliance(KEVA) is working to improve
the air quality of the Kathmandu Valley by encouraging the use
of electric vehicles for both public and private transportation.
KEVA promotes the use of zero-emission electric vehicles as a
positive step towards reduction of air pollution in the Kathmandu.
Lonely
Planet is an independently owned travel guidebook
publisher, whose Nepal guidebook is without doubt the most popular
guidebooks for visitors of Nepal. More than half of KEEP’s
visitors and volunteers hear about the organisation as a result
of the promotion of KEEP in the Lonely Planet Nepal guidebook.
Nepal River Conservation
Trust (NRCT) is a registered non-profit
organization established in 1995 by a group of river guides who
are highly concerned about the deteriorating environmental condition
of the rivers of Nepal. The NRCT aims to conserve the natural
and cultural heritage of these rivers through various conservation,
awareness, and community development activities.
Oz Quest: Young Australian
Adventurers is non-profit program that runs short-term
expeditions overseas that combines adventure travel with community
service and/ or research. The expeditions allow young Australians
to ‘get off the tourist trail’ and get into the community and
environment. OzQuest provides and opportunity to really experience
the local culture whilst developing skills in communication and
leadership.
World
Expeditions specializes in trekking and adventure
travel holidays with small groups across 7 continents. World Expedition
has been a avid supporter of KEEP’s activities since KEEP’s
inception.

Department of National
Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) is currently
working with a network of 8 national parks plus buffer zones,
4 wildlife reserves, 3 conservation areas and 1 hunting reserve,
covering 18.58% of Nepal's total land area. The primary objectives
of the Department are to conserve the country’s major representative
ecosystems, its unique natural and cultural heritage and to protect
endangered wildlife species.
International Porter Protection Group
(IPPG) - "Working on behalf of the porters of Nepal". IPPG's aim
is to improve health and safety for the trekking porter at work
in the mountains and to reduce the incidence of avoidable illness,
injury and death. This is done by raising awareness among trekking
and travel companies, leaders, sirdars, and trekkers.
National Trust for Nature Conservation
(NTNC) or formerly King Mahendra's Trust for Nature Conservation
(KMTNC) is Nepal's largest nature conservation organisation, is
responsible for tourism and development in the Annapurna and Manaslu
areas. It also runs projects in Royal Chitwan and Bardia National
Parks, and manages the Central Zoo, Kathmandu Valley. KEEP has
especially close links with the Annapurna Conservation Area Project
(ACAP), a major venture of the KMTNC.
Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation
(SLEF) - SLEF is the pioneer "Ecotourism Society"
in Sri Lanka, and was established in 1998. It is registered as
a non-profit NGO at the Central Environmental Authority (CEA)
of Sri Lanka.
International Mountain Explorers Connection
(IMEC) is an American NGO that provides services to its members at its
Nepal and Pakistan offices and works to assist the people of Nepal.
The Mountain Instituteis involved in the Makalu-Barun Conservation Project and in
many other projects worldwide.
